"At one point I was told that was it, that I didn’t have any more treatment options left in Australia"
"When I was 16 years old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. At one point I was told that was it, that I didn’t have any more treatment options left in Australia. There are feelings of hopelessness, and despair obviously because you think, this is it, I’m going to die.
My only option was a clinical trial in the United States. To go to the US, I crowdfunded the money and my parents had to re-mortgage their home. But, I was lucky. For most people, life-saving treatments like I had are often out of reach and that’s not fair. We need more clinical trials, to create breakthroughs here in Australia."

Without more clinical trials more young people will continue to pass away from cancer. Help provide greater access to potential life-saving help for young people facing cancer who are out of other viable options.
Canteen funds nationally coordinated clinical trials targeting the cancer types with the highest death rates for adolescents and young adults.
