When Harry was 12, he found out his pregnant mum had cancer. Harry was so frightened at the thought of losing her. Soon after this news, Harry tragically lost his baby brother Ryan who only survived two days after being born prematurely.
As Harry says, the only word I can use to describe that experience is excruciating”. It’s something no one, let alone a 12-year-old, should have to face.
But thankfully, Canteen was there for Harry and gave him the life-changing support he needed to deal with the loss of his brother and his mum’s cancer. In Harry’s words, “I don’t think I would have been able to deal with it if it wasn’t for Canteen”
